There’s paintball and then there’s airsoft – the one where you still get to pretend you’ve been dropped inside a mission on Call of Duty or the climactic scene in the latest blockbuster of a war film, but don’t have to deal with the splattering’s of paint ruining your hair for the night out. The two are very similar though, however many say that airsoft is more “serious.” We’re not too sure about that, what we are sure about is that if you get hit by one of the pellets (on exposed skin) it hurts.
Much like paintball you get outdoor and indoor venues. These will vary depending on where you book but we can highly recommend the European ones for their atmosphere: some take place in old army bases which really add to the feel of the game!
Safety equipment will normally be supplied by the venue as well as the airsoft guns and pellets. We recommend wearing clothes you can freely move around in and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty as you’ll be running around and most likely crouching behind shields to avoid high flying pellets of pain. There will normally be in-game objectives for you to complete such as, capture the flag and infiltrate the enemy base etc. However the aim of the game is pretty simple, don’t get shot. Because once you are you’ll have to put your hands to the sky and walk away from that round.
If you have your own gear and wish to bring it then please make sure you contact our staff beforehand to double check. Also, before each game make sure you listen to the safety and instruction briefing: we don’t want anyone getting (seriously) hurt! Not that airsoft is horribly dangerous of anything! After all, this is an activity that’s all about fun, team work and of course, a good aim!*

Using the Stag Company saved me money, time and effort. The standard of the hotels they book are 10/10, the activities were brilliant and the customer service team were very helpful too. The best thing from my point of view was that each member of the party pays online themselves, this saved me having to potentially chase the lads for cash and keep track of who had paid what. - Lee 'Hashtag' Thomas (Stag Company Trust Pilot)
