Getting around Cardiff is a total doddle for groups celebrating a big stag do and there's multiple public transport options on offer, including buses and the Metro system. The bus network covers off most of Cardiff and is nicely priced. If you're looking to make a saving, there’s also the option to purchase group tickets and day passes, ideal for keeping your bank balance happy!
As for payment, there's a variety of ways to pay; download the Cardiff Bus mobile app and buy your tickets online, pay with your contactless card onboard the bus by tapping on and off, or simply purchase your fare from the driver using cash or card.
Alternatively, there's the Cardiff Metro system, which consists of light rail trains connecting different areas of the city. It's easy to use and is ideal if you're looking to head to the most popular locations, such as the city centre, Cardiff Bay, and the airport.

Parking in Cardiff
Driving into Cardiff for your weekend? If so, it's good to know that you'll have plenty of parking options available; there’s loads of car parks in the city centre and Cardiff Bay.
Those looking for short stay car parks should head to Westgate Street car park and the St. David's centre car park. These car parks are ideal for those who plan to park for a few hours and explore the city centre. On the other hand, if you're looking for a long stay, then there's several car parks available around the city. For 24 hours access, consider the NCP car park located on Dumfries Place - it’s also within walking distance of Cardiff Queen Street station. There's also Cardiff Airport car park, where you'll be able to park up for a few days and hop on public transport to get yourselves to the city centre.
No change? No worries! Some areas around the city offer cashless parking via the use of apps or online platforms, where you'll be able to pay without purchasing actual tickets. And if you want to be really prepared, you could even pre-book your parking space in Cardiff ahead of time!
