Rules and Law

Know Your Rule

You’re going on a stag do; it’s set to be the weekend of your lives, there will most likely be pranks, games and fancy dress aplenty – but while that is all well and good and most definitely encouraged… you’ll definitely need to stay within the existing rules of every establishment you visit – from hotel to nightclub – and even more importantly, avoid breaking any laws during what is supposed to be a truly memorable weekend with your mates… for all the right reasons.

Law & Order

Let’s start with the most important stuff… the kind of stuff that will see you spending a night in a cell if you don’t abide by it and avoid doing it. Currently, stag-related laws are as follows:

The Mankini Newquay

In 2012, Newquay council banned the mankini and other forms of inappropriate or offensive fancy dress, taking a ‘zero tolerance’ stance on these forms of dress, so that it now falls under a ‘public disorder’ act and will therefore not be tolerated by any establishment, let alone the law.

Blackpool followed Newquay’s example in 2014 and outlawed the mankini and other offensive and revealing fancy dress choices – meaning choosing what you wear in Blackpool is paramount.

Tip: No matter where you are, just leave the mankini at home!

Kidnap the Stag

Of course our kidnap the stag activity and the idea of doing it on your own as a whole is slightly risqué when it comes to law and enforcement, however we do ensure that whenever we run it, it is completely in co-operation with the police as it needs to be, wherever you are.

Currently Kidnap the Stag is unavailable in Tallinn and is not advised.

Rules

Fancy Dress

Fancy dress is a staple of many stag weekends with it obviously adding in even more humour and fun to the occasion, so you definitely don’t want it to be the reason your stag do is ruined, but with many clubs, bars and other establishments now cracking down on what is worn, it goes without saying that it is well worth checking what is acceptable beforehand no matter where you are heading – just to be sure.
