Gin Tasting Experience
Let’s get straight to it, if your opinion on gin is that only your grandmother drinks it – you’re way out. Gin’s been popular for centuries with the Great British drinking public. The term ‘Dutch courage’ comes from English soldiers fighting the Spanish in the Netherlands and getting drunk on Dutch genever gin beforehand. And since then it’s been a popular drink with men. The likes of Hemingway and Humphrey Bogart drank it. It’s even a key ingredient in James Bond’s favourite cocktail. Still think it’s only your nan who drinks it?
Gin tasting is a perfect activity for a big group of lads, for example family as well as friends, who might not all know one another. The hands on atmosphere (and plenty of gin) has a way of getting chins wagging and the good times flowing.
Once consumed for its medicinal properties to cure bouts of gout and indigestion in the mid eighteenth century, gin is now a popular spirit that forms the basis of many well-known drinks such as the classic G&T, Martini, Singapore Sling and many more. So if the stag’s a fan of this wonderful stuff, then how about getting a trip booked up for a gin tasting experience during the stag weekend away to Oxford? We’ll send you and the lads off to a great venue, where you’ll meet an enthusiastic gin specialist, who will give your group an in depth show and tell, equip you with some interesting gin facts and play some fun ice breakers and games with the stag group.
There is of course the most important part of the session to come. Yep, you guess it – the gin tasting! Each member of your group will get to sample up to four gin samples, where you’ll learn to appreciate their individual taste profiles – there’s also a complimentary drink available for everyone too! Overall, we say this is a great one to get involved in, and will get you nicely warmed up for the night out ahead!
