Chance to learn how to drive a tank
Diverse and friendly nightlife scene
Easy to get to, easy to get around, hard to say goodbye
We love Leeds. There, we said it. No regrets. This is one of our favourite stag destinations in northern England. The nightlife scene is absolutely wild, so diverse and friendly, it’s near-impossible not to find a few bars or pubs that your group will be happy to sink a few pints in.
And as for your stag activities during the day, you will definitely not be bored in Leeds. From your classics like Paintballing and Quad Biking to some more extreme stuff like Assault Courses and even Tank Driving (yes that’s right, you can drive a tank), you’ll be talking about a Leeds stag do for years to come
Leeds is about 45 minutes on the bus from Leeds Bradford Airport, but there’s no need to fly for a Leeds stag do. The city is just off the A1(M) and there are several public car parks around Leeds, with 24-hour parking available from around £14, so excellent value. Leeds is also very well-served by trains from both the north and south, so why not leave the car, grab a few beers for the journey and hop on a train with the rest of the group. However, if you’re looking for Leeds stag accommodation with car parking, we can also help - just let us know when you make your enquiry.
Leeds city centre itself is nice and compact, so you can get around on foot with ease. There is an excellent bus service though, which circles the city centre and weekend tickets on the CityBus are well-priced.
A lot of our Leeds stag groups do want to know about taxis for their nights out. You can flag them down in the street, pre-book them via a local taxi firm, or queue up at one of the many ranks around the city centre. There’s one right outside the train station if you’re coming by train. Or alternatively, just grab yourselves an Uber of course.
Leeds is fantastic for stag groups whether you’re after adventure, sports, music or a bit of culture. There's so much variety here, making it a fantastic place to let loose and make memories with the lads.
We all love a kick about but this is your stag do in Leeds so it’s time to up the ante! Get ready to laugh as you get inside your very own big, inflatable zorb, turning your regular footie kit into an inflatable beach ball! An event coordinator will split your group into teams for a hilarious showdown. It's regular football rules, but with a twist. Now, tackling involves barging, bouncing and bumping into your opponents. Just imagine sending your rivals flying as you score those goals! Wobble around the pitch and scramble to outplay the other team as you compete to win ultimate bragging rights.
Nothing helps you to experience a city’s nightlife like a bar crawl! Knowing which bar to hit first, which bars are the best and also let stag groups in can be tricky so let us do all the hard work for it. These bar crawls are led by professional guides who’ll take you to the greatest pubs and bars in Millenium Square, Greek Street, The Calls and beyond. They’ll even treat you to a few shots or beers. Some crawls even include nightclub entry so you can end your night on a high. With public and private crawls available, there’s something to suit every stag group vibe.
It’s time to step into a real life version of the Fast and Furious movie as you tear up the track with go karting, a classic stagtivity. If you’ve been wondering who’s the best driver in your group, you’re about to find out. But will it be you? One of the best things about this activity is that anyone can give it a go and have fun. This city’s go kart circuits are epic with some up to 580m long with tunnels, bridges and plenty of straight sections where you can try to overtake. Hop into your powerful 270cc go kart and reach speeds of up to 40mph.
Want to spice up your stag do? Then hitting a strip club is a must do! It is the groom-to-be’s last night of freedom, after all. These gorgeous girls are true professionals when it comes to teasing and pleasing an audience. Expect your jaws to hit the floor as they dance, strip and work the pole for you. If you don’t fancy a strip club, you can hire a female stripper to come to your venue or try an activity like Steak and Strip where you’ll tuck into a tasty meal and beer as your sexy stripper entertains you. A babe, beef and booze, what could be better?
Paintballing is the quintessential stag do activity, combining action hero scenarios with friendly competition and a good old splattering of paint. You’ll get kitted out and have a full safety briefing from the venue’s friendly staff before you’re split into teams to do battle. Then it’s time to let loose in the woodland. Will you plan your attack or just run in all guns blazing? Immerse yourselves in this fun activity as you unleash your inner action movie star, pelting everyone you see with paint. Just make sure to watch your back because you never know when the other team is sneaking up on you!
Are you ready to channel your inner Viking warrior on your stag weekend in Leeds? This activity is becoming increasingly popular, giving people a chance to try something different, blow off steam and get competitive with their mates. You’ll have between one hour and 90 minutes to sling axes at a range of targets. You’ll get tuition from a friendly, experienced instructor who’ll help you smash those targets in no time. Will you be able to hit the bullseye? You’ll feel such a rush of adrenaline when you do. You could even make things more fun by dishing out forfeits to the losers. This activity totally kicks axe!
It’s time to combine two of the world’s most popular sports for one hilarious activity your whole group will love. Footgolf combines…you guessed it, football and golf. You’ll kick footballs into specially adapted, larger holes on the green, trying to get it in there in as few attempts as possible. An event coordinator will explain the rules, keep score and set fun challenges to see who can get closest to the pin and achieve the longest drive or kick. They’ll even have a forfeit sheet so you better give it your best shot if you want to avoid being punished!
Ending your stag do with a wild night of clubbing is a no-brainer! Leeds nightlife is legendary, and the city knows how to throw a party that'll have you talking about it for years. You’ll feel like a VIP with queue jump entry, meaning less time standing outside in the cold and more time at the bar and on the dance floor to the beats of top-notch DJs. With a big range of clubs catering to all tastes, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re the kind of guy to make a beeline to the bar or the dancefloor, you’re in for a legendary night out! You can also book a booth in the club, so that you have your own private space to dump your jackets and also get a big bottle of booze ordered to the table.
Level up your Leeds stag do with a bang, literally! Clay pigeon shooting is the ultimate thrill that'll have your squad talking about your legendary weekend for ages. The groom-to-be can channel his inner sharpshooter with his friends cheering each bullseye, with the satisfaction of smashing those clay targets to smithereens. It's the perfect blend of adrenaline and camaraderie, set against the picturesque countryside backdrop that’s great for selfies and group photos. Swap the mundane for shotguns, laughter and banter as you all get competitive. And getting outdoors is a great way to shake off the hangover from the night before!
Gentlemen, rev your engines! It’s time for quad biking, an epic, exhilarating adventure in the great outdoors. The groom and his wolf pack will tear through rugged terrains, splattering mud and high-fiving at every thrilling turn. It's not just a ride; it's an adrenaline-fueled, off-road trek that'll inject your celebration with pure excitement. It’s no surprise that this is such a popular stag do activity. Leeds offers the perfect playground for quad biking madness, where you can conquer challenging trails and show off your awesome driving skills on these beasty machines.
There are some really good action-packed stag activities here, including an amazing Dead Eye Dick Shooting Experience, where you’ll spend two hours shooting rifles and bow and arrows, and learning how to throw knives and axes. Live out all of your Rambo and Predator fantasies, under the watchful eyes of your expert instructors.
You can also work together to conquer a challenging Assault Course, or team up on a morning of Xtreme Archery (think archery combined with dodgeball and paintball). And you can even have a go at Driving a Mini Tank, where you’re roaming around the woodlands, pelting your friends with paintballs. Awesome fun.
Another of our most popular Leeds stag do activities is an Escape Room, which has become a really big thing in recent years. If you’ve somehow not heard of them yet, basically your group is locked in a room, and has to solve a series of riddles and puzzles in order to get out within the allotted time.
Leeds has a strong sporting focus, being home to some big teams within cricket, rugby and football. If Rugby or cricket is your thing, then you could head down to Headingley Stadium where both Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Cricket Club are based. Footie fans could take a trip over to Elland Road to watch Leeds United in action. To get there, you can just hop on a bus from the centre, which takes roughly 30 minutes. Or you could have a kickabout yourselves over at the massive Roundhay Park, one of Leeds’ biggest attractions. There are loads of events here throughout the year including food and drink festivals, and open air cinema. But most of our groups just like to take along a football or a Frisbee and have a knockabout.
An afternoon activity in Leeds for stag groups which is a little different and encourages some healthy competition is Urban axe throwing. You’ll have exclusive use of one of the lanes which are located in the city centre, and with the option of adding beers and pizza too you’ll be ready to head straight out on the town after! Separate the boys from the men and start the night with a Whiskey Tasting session where your party will sample a variety of whiskies and appreciate the individual flavour profiles. After your class you also have the option to stick around at this venue and enjoy strip club too.
Want to catch some live music on your Leeds stag weekend? The First Direct Arena, in the city centre, hosts many big names including Lewis Capaldi and Snoop Dogg, as well as top stand-up comics such as Peter Kay. If rock’s your thing you could also tie the stag in with Leeds Festival, one of the UK’s biggest summer festivals, with day tickets available.
If you’re feeling like a bit of a chilled day, then you can visit the Henry Moore Institute, next to Leeds Art Gallery, which has regular exhibitions and events showcasing the work of some of the world’s finest sculpture artists. Or take a scenic stroll along the canal to clear your heads, and set you up for a night on the town in Leeds.
There’s no two ways about it: Leeds is a blisteringly great night out. You’ve got your chain places that are always popular with stag groups, loads of stylish and lively cocktail bars, beer gardens, snooker, and lots of themed bars where you can play everything from bingo to shuffleboard and darts. There are several main areas for going out, all of them within a brisk walk of each other, or a short taxi ride. Let us show you round with our stag do guide to Leeds nightlife.
Around Millennium Square, which is a massive open-air space where there’s always loads going on, you’ll find a cluster of stag-friendly bars including Revolution, Walkabout and O’Neills, as well as a Wetherspoons, and loads of independent places too. It’s a big favourite for our Leeds stag do’s as you know you’ll not have difficulty getting into places, and you can also get a bite to eat really easily.
There are more well-known chain bars such as a Slug & Lettuce, and Beckett’s Bank, which is a ‘Spoons, around Greek Street, along with many cool cocktail bars and restaurants. Not far away is Flight Club, which we love for our stag groups, bringing darts into the 21st century with a very sociable, buzzing atmosphere. On a saturday the Greek Street area is filled with plenty of like minded stag and hen groups looking to have a good time.
The Calls is a riverside neighbourhood, generally reckoned one of the best places to go out in Leeds. It has absolutely loads of stylish cocktail lounges, including the uber-cool Maven, occupying the first floor of a Victorian building, which also organises cocktail-making masterclasses. You’ve also got Wire, a murky basement club where the DJs spin alternative rock and Indie; Jake’s Bar & Still Room, which makes its own liqueurs for its delectable cocktails, and Neon Cactus, for tequila-laced drinks.
Also around The Calls, Oporto is a Leeds legend, with DJ sets and live music soundtracking a reliably rowdy ambience, and great beer to wash down their deadly vegan junk food. There’s also North Co. Brewery Tap, the perfect day to night venue, offering craft beers and street food and an exceptional outdoor seating area and in the summer it's a complete suntrap. We can’t not mention Red’s True BBQ, where meat lovers should make a pilgrimage. This is most definitely not a vegan-friendly restaurant, but just around the corner back on Call Lane is Doner Summer, offering tasty vegan junk food, so everyone is happy.
Merrion Street, 10 minutes’ walk north of The Calls, is another Leeds nightlife hotspot. The Parkside Tavern has snooker and pool tables, and a rooftop terrace perfect for sunny days and warm evenings. In the summer months Merrion Street is pedestrianised making it the ideal place for bar hopping. The Mean Eyed Cat Bar is a funky drinking den that serves free handmade pizzas to enjoy with their cocktails and craft ales, and is on the go ‘til 4am. And then there is The Brotherhood of Pursuits and Pastimes, one of the best sports bars in Leeds and a real mancave of a place with big screens, loads of beer choices and homemade pies. Round the corner is Brew York, which has a huge roster of its own craft beers alongside those of guest breweries, beer cocktails and Asian street food. BrewDog on North Street is also one for beer-lovers, with 28 taps, vintage arcade machines and pinball, and a menu that features sourdough pizzas and buffalo wings.
Head west along Merrion Street and you’ll reach The Light, a leisure centre where you’ll find the Roxy Ballroom. A really fun place to spend a few hours at the start of the evening, it has games including shuffleboard, bowling and pool available, as well as live sports on the TV.
And then there’s Briggate, a pedestrianised shopping street with a hive of traditional Northern pubs and independents hidden up the side streets. You’ll be sure to grab a pint for £3.50 in one of these pubs. Another joint we like in the Lower Briggate area is Smokestack, a refined speakeasy-type place where you can get down to funk, soul, jazz and Blue across three floors.
If you want to hit the dancefloor later on in the evening, Leeds has loads of choice of course. But you can’t go wrong with PRYZM, just off Merrion Street. R&B and party anthems across two floors, and rare is the weekend night without at least one hen party in attendance. Fancy treating the groom-to-be to a late-night private dance from a buxom young lady? Allow us to arrange your entry to Liberte, one of Leeds' finest gentlemen's clubs.
