The Best Bars To Watch The Euro's This Summer

With exactly 1 month till the big kickoff in Paris, we have created a list of all the best pubs and bars in the UK where you can watch the Euro's this summer. This will be the first Euro's with 24 teams (expanded from 16), a plan to ensure all major nations would be present, however the Netherlands didn't get the memo, as they will be watching from afar this summer. England won all 10 of their qualifying matches and will be hoping to build on some impressive performances with our young stars. European champions Spain and World champions Germany are hotly tipped to win the tournament, however the United Kingdom is strongly represented, with England, Wales and Northern ireland all competing.

Birmingham

Gosta Green

Popular among students, partly thanks to its great prices on food & drink, as well as its late closing times, the Gosta Green is also great for watching live sports. You can also reserve a table, to ensure you all get a seat, but remember these will book up quick so get in contact as early as possible. If the weather is good, then you can also head out to the beer garden to cheer England on in style.

Located on Summer Row, the bright red furnishing makes for a very futuristic look, while the red and white deco will perfectly match with everyone’s T-shirts, as the whole bar cheers the country on. A late closing time, some top drink deals and a 500-person capacity make this one of the best spots to watch the Euro’s this summer.

Another very reasonably priced bar on the list, this chain bar never fails to disappoint wherever you are in the country. If the game falls on a Monday then you can enjoy 50% off, while you can also hire out sections of the bar to avoid missing out on a seat.

Open 24/7, this bar is perfect for people who want to stay on after the game for a game of pool or darts. As a bar that regularly hosts stag groups and corporate events, they are completely accustomed to large groups, so no need to worry about turning up in large quantities.

The Lord Clifden

This award winning pub is predominantly known for its urban street art, however it is also becoming the go-to place for football every weekend. They have burgers to die for, while they also have plenty of other options if this doesn’t tickle your fancy. The bar shuts at midnight on most nights, with an extended closing time of 2am on Friday’s and Saturday’s.

The World’s End

The brilliant atmosphere is only topped by the great food on offer, I would put The World’s End as the top spot for watching the football in Brighton. This is partly due to the location being a little further away from the centre of town, meaning it doesn’t get too full.

King & Queens

With multiple screens available, both downstairs and upstairs, the King & Queens is probably the most popular live sports bar in Brighton, so get there early if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Black Lion

Known for its amazing Sunday roasts, its modern indie image and the place that every office heads to on a Friday night, it isn’t normally considered a place to watch the footie. However, whenever a major tournament comes along, such as the Olympics, Wimbledon, or indeed the Euro’s, it pulls out all the stops to create a great atmosphere. You also don’t have to go anywhere once the game ends, as they will often have a DJ setup and the standing area will gradually transform into a small dancefloor.

Fiddlers Elbow

Not everyone will be cheering on England, considering you’re in an Irish bar, but the atmosphere is great in this cosy pub, located just off West Street. It also serves the best pint of Guinness in Brighton (perhaps unsurprisingly), as well as live music and a great Sunday roast.

Perfect if you’re in a big group, the Font will have one giant screen setup, viewable both from upstairs and downstairs. The food is very reasonably priced and the crowd definitely build an unbelievable atmosphere.

Walkabout

Following on from a complete refurbishment, this sports bar is perfectly kitted with 2 giant screens, as well as plenty of wide screen TV’s, making this the top spot to watch the Euro’s this summer in Bristol. The cheap prices on drinks and food is a very much welcome added bonus, with some great special offers on each day.

Pranj’s Bar

With a 3am closing time on Thursday – Saturday, this is a very popular sports bar. They have 11 TV screens, meaning you should be able to find a good spot wherever you are in the bar. You can also expect a resident DJ after the games on Friday and Saturday nights.

The staff always embrace the exciting atmosphere, with themed snacks at the last world cup. This is a traditional pub which has been around since 1871, yet it hasn’t failed to adapt to its customers’ demands and is also one of the largest bars in the city. The kitchen is also a top selling aspect, as many consider it the best pub grub in the West Country.

Racks has TV screens throughout the venue showing Skysports in HD, plenty of seats available and are accustomed to large groups, so you can turn up with the entire crew. They also have a big projector screen setup for the big tournaments. This is a popular venue for everything from sports to wedding receptions, but expect it to be completely focused on the Euro’s during June. You should also take a look at their 2 for 1 deal on burgers, as well as their seafood options.

The Old Fish Market

While normally a bar filled with rugby fans, they will switch over to football while the Euro’s are on. The food was a big positive for this bar, with the rump lamb standing out in particular, while this is also a top spot for whisky lovers.

Shooters Sports Bar

It says everything in the name. Shooters lives for sporting events, with areas of the bar available for hire, meaning you and your mates can get your own private section which can’t get pinched by anyone else. You could also book yourself a go on the pool tables, perfect while you’re waiting for the game to start or at half time. They have a great tasting American themed menu, as well as a Man VS Food challenge if you’re up to the task.

This two-floor gastropub is located right in the heart of the city and has a late closing time (1am on Friday’s, 2am on Saturday’s) meaning it is a top option if you want to carry on with the night. They also publish all the matches they will be broadcasting on their site, so take a look before the game to check for details.

If you’re on a tighter budget, the drinks and food menu are ridiculously well priced! Despite this being an Irish bar, you will find England fans in bulk, as they fill the bar to cheer on the country. If the game falls on a Thursday then you might find yourself struggling to walk out the door, with some great special offers on.

It’s so good we’d almost forgive them for calling it ‘soccer’… almost.

Styling themselves as an indoor campground, Camp and Furnace is a unique place to watch the football this summer. The warehouse space covered in Euro 2016 flags really captures the imagination and is the only venue in Liverpool able to capture the size of the occasion.  The huge screens, communal atmosphere and great food and drink make you feel like you’re part of the action.
