Whiskey Tasting Experience
Whisky. Is there a more manly drink out there? This is definitely a stag do activity for the men, not the boys. So pour a toast to the lucky Stag in this fantastically sophisticated activity. Across your tasting you’ll be introduced to whisky, how it’s made, qualities to look for – and most importantly – how to taste it properly, something that you’ll get the chance to do again, and again… and again as you sample a range of whiskies. Even if you aren’t usually a huge fan of this delicious brown nectar, across your session you’ll learn to properly appreciate whisky. Along the way you’ll also pick up lots of tips and hints, so that when your stag is over, you still have plenty of knowledge to make you look sophisticated.
Whisky tasting is a great activity for a bunch of guys that may not know one another, maybe if they’re a blend of the stag’s friends, family and more. It’s an activity that promotes conversation, and as we all know, alcohol has a way of breaking down social barriers. Whisky tasting is a great warm up to a night of fun. It’s also a perfect way to make you feel like a sophisticated gent so that you’re fighting fit and ready to hit the town.
Now bear with us here. We know that if there’s one spirit which Edinburgh moves on it has to be scotch Whiskey. But that doesn’t mean that we should go ignoring the very impressive work of our cross-Atlantic cousins. If you’ve never sampled the wonderful world of Whiskey, or even worse – if your only experience has been Jack Daniels – then this tasting experience is the perfect introduction.
You and the guys will get to sample at least four different types of Whiskey under the guidance of an expert who’ll also fill you in on the history and processes of the drink. But this isn’t a stuffy tasting. It’s a stag do, so at its core, this is about sharing some fantastic drinks and a good time with your mates. There’ll be no mentions of floral notes or any of that noise.

- Led by a Scotch Whiskey expert
- The session will teach you how to really appreciate whiskey and its different flavours.
- You'll learn the difference between various types of Whiskey under the tutorage of a Whiskey connoisseur.
As well as learning the process and methods behind the spirit you'll receive a minimum of four samples each, which can come in forms such as a blind taste or straight taste.
