The average stag do group size is 16 people, which is quite a hefty group to manage, but not everyone wants such an intense weekend away. So if you’re trying to work out what’s best to do when managing a smaller group, we’re here to help!
Below are some of the most popular activities for groups under 10 people, while we can help book you into these activities if you put in a quote today.
Embrace your inner Viking with some Urban Axe Throwing, a great group activity that doesn’t involve driving out to the middle of the countryside as it takes place in a bar!
This means you can knock back some drinks and have some lunch at the same place you’re doing your activity, so less pressure to get everyone to the same spot.
The package actually includes two drinks, with your own exclusive axe throwing lane. You’ll also be guided by a dedicated instructor, so you don’t have to worry about Dave going mental and slashing someone before the end of the night.
Heads up, this activity does require a minimum age of eighteen, so it won’t be suitable for any younger chaps in the group.
The winner of the games will get a t-shirt, offering something fun to take away with you, just make sure the groom isn’t the champion, provide as many forfeits as possible!
Locations:
This bar has opened in a number of cities, with the Manchester Point Blank Shooting being one of the most well known and popular.
Locked and loaded, time to armour up lads, as you take on up to 200 different scenarios, this will keep the group captivated for two hours, while you can also get 4 beer buckets included, consisting of 20 beers, plus a bottle of your spirit of choice with mixers, whether thats some gin, spiced rum or whatever you prefer from the list.
Open from midday till midnight, this is a great option if you want to stay in the city centre, meaning a short trip to the nightclub or the strip club, or many of our other activities.
The venue is also well known for the great tasting pizza they offer, so you can fill up, whether it’s lunch or dinner, or just generally hungry and want the group getting way too wasted too early in the night.
This is a great option if the idea was a trip to Eastern Europe for gun shooting but you wanted to opt for something a bit closer to home or on a smaller budget.
Sixes is a brilliant and relatively new bar located in multiple cities across the UK with a cricket focus. But we’re not just talking about a funky sports bar, they have their own screen technology so you can smash some balls with your bat and it will record how well you did.
You won’t just be competing with your mates for blagging rights, you’ll also be competing against everyone who has ever played in the bar, to see how you score in the overall league.
The Sixes venue in Brighton is located along the seafront, right near the i360 and the Upside Down House, so you can combine this activity with some sight seeing or even chilling on the beach. Of course, there are plenty of bars and clubs along the seafront, so it will be a short journey afterwards to your designated last spot.
There will be plenty of food to snack on, from crispy chicken wings to nachos and veggie pakoras, as well as drinks galore, so you have everything you need, much like the other options on this list.
In regards to duration, this activity lasts about 90 minutes, so it’s a great late afternoon activity, especially if you’ve done something else just before and want to keep the fun going while getting the first round in and some food.

Long gone are the days of chilled out bars, let the battle commence as you enter the world’s first ever ‘battle bar’.
So what exactly does that mean you say? The concept is simple, a huge amount of games, from beer pong to a shuffleboard, darts and axe throwing, everything you could imagine all in one arena.
The games will keep the group mesmerised as you challenge each other to see who is the real champ.
Considering this is available in London, it certainly makes it one of the cheapest options in the most expensive city in the country.
The booking also includes a £100 drinks tab, so everyone can get their drinks in without the headache of working out all the prices. You could even arrange the drinks beforehand so you know what the first drinks will be for everyone.
Unlike many other venues, they’re absolutely fine with fancy dress, in fact they’re quite used to it, so you can head over in a theme together, or you can just punk out the groom and stick him in something hilarious. Location:
If Newcastle is high on your potential list of locations then a trip to the Bierkeller Haus is a great activity that works with a smaller group of people.
You can stock up on a Bavarian feast, with plenty of sausages to stick in the grooms mouth (I’ll leave out all the puns).
All the beers are served in the 2-pint Steins, so it can get very messy quickly. They’re also served by the bier maids all donning the traditional costume.
But this isn’t your usual restaurant-bar, it has a brilliant atmosphere and live music or a DJ in place to blast out the tunes, playing until 3am, so this can be your dinner, pre-drinks and nightclub all rolled into one! That certainly saves money on cabs and entry fees.
When this activity is booked through TheStagCompany, you get prioritised entry with guaranteed seating (which does go very quickly, trust us). You will also get a haus shot each on arrival, plus a 2-pint stein each (the beer can be swapped for a cocktail for the non-beer drinkers).
If anyone in the group does have dietary requirements, it’s best to let our party planners known in advance so they can alert the restaurant and appropriate options can be arranged.
Open from 4pm, this is a great late afternoon / evening activity, potentially following a game of bubble football or paintballing on a Newcastle stag do. Newcastle has been our top selling destination of the year for good reason, it’s a great place to party!
Unlike many of the other activities we sell, which require a minimum of 10 or 12 people in order to be booked, the escape rooms actually has a maximum number based on how many people can be in a room at once, often around 6-8.
These are great fun, they can bring a group together, especially if people haven't met before, while they also last exactly an hour so you don't have to worry about going over on time before the next activity. You can also choose a location so it is near something else you want to do later that day, whether an adrenaline pumping activity or simply a bar or restaurant.
Available across the country and across Europe, many of the escape rooms also have a theme, whether that's horror, spies or childhood TV shows. They're a fun challenge and if you have two groups in two rooms then you can compete against each other to see who gets out first.
We instantly think of a heavy pub crawl and then clambering into the club at the end of the night, but a comedy show is a great alternative option.
Whether it's a big hitter or someone local, watching some live comedy will allow the group to be together and have an amazing time, while getting the beers in and hopefully roasting the groom.
Most comedy shows will involve a few comedians, so there might be a good few opportunities to get him humiliated, unless you're the groom reading this, at which point I can promise you nothing bad will happen, cough.
Comedy shows are available across the UK, while you can also book some abroad but this activity works better for domestic staycations. A booking will generally include the entry fee, however you can also pay for a package so that it includes a set amount of drinks for the group, stopping the hassle of working out rounds which can get messy.
